No 4th gear?

Axle/Gears: 3.42 LSD
No 4th gear?
I have a 1990 Camaro RS w/ a 3.1L V6 with an automatic transmission.
Usually on my way in the morning when I'm at 40 MPH it usually drops into 4th gear no problem. In the mornings when I first drive the car sometimes it takes a little while to be able to drop into 4th gear, I always took for granted that the car did that to get it warmer faster by keeping the car in 3rd gear. But this morning it stayed in 3rd gear for quite a while, and I'm not quite sure if something is wrong.
