Torque converter
What torque converter would you guys recommend for my new 357 roller combo. I was thinking of getting a hughes HUP-GM25 GM: TH350, non-lockup, 2,200 to 2,500 rpm stall speed, Street Master series, torque converter.

you have sort of huge heads, and a sort of big intake, and a sort of big cam. you will need good gearing (3.73) and a good stall (2800+) to get the most out of your engine. TCI is ok for the price, but you should consider a "new, modern" converter.
if your on a budget and dont care about fuel economy the TCI 10" Street fighter is a good way to launch. be warned, you WILL get 3 MPG.

sounds good to me, if you drive on the street. Remember, No T-brakes and no Slicks. with a carb expect 6-8 MPG on the street, especially with 3.73s and no lockup. and you PROBABLY wont want to drive it on the highway... ever.

Wait I JUST got that.
You have 3.73s RIGHT NOW with a 305 and stock cam? Do you LIKE THAT?
going from 2.73 to 3.73 on my stock 305 HURT my 1/4 mile time, and sucked all my fuel away.
it will be all good, but you should remember keeping your cam's powerband within the reach of your carb/intake/heads/stalls reach.
example: 3.73 gears, Th350 2400 Stall, and a powerband Idle-4500 Rpms. very very bad. sure you get to 20 MPH real quick... but after that...
