Does anybody know the round about weight of a rear end?

Come on ede, what bars are you hangin out in? 200lbs seems like alot to me, when I bought my 2 rears to make 1 I picked em up myself outta the guys garage and loaded them into my truck, yes they still had fluid in them, 1 was drum and 1 was disc. If I remember right I think the disc was actually heavier though.

diff weight

My upgrade rear (www.amazingmechanical.com ) is 175# with backing plates but no oil and brakes, so I would think a stocker with the smaller axle tubes and little diff is only about 150#

My disc rear was probably in the 150 lb range. I could pick it up but moving it more than a few feet was not something I wanted to do since I'm only 125 lbs.

i would like to know what the weights of various aftermaket rears are. how much more is a 12 bolt moser than a 9 bolt? what about an alluminum center section 9 inch??

anybody know??
