sounds like you have a transmission mount that is shot. I had to replace mine a few months ago. The stick would move up about 3 inches when I would let out the clutch and onto the gas.

i got a new mount from autozone for like 10 bucks. Support your tranny with a jack and remove your crossmember. You'll see the mount on there. It may fall off into your hand. At least mine did. Give it a shot.

later,
bill

well, not that i know of. It wont be good for your driveline to move around like that. It will only take about a half an hours time to do the swap. It would possibly take its toll on the motor mounts since the engine is now torquing (sp) because the driveline isn't secured.

could also be adding extra load to u-joints, tailshaft bushing etc. I would be real gentle with it till its fixed, no dumping the clutch, power shifting, burning out...you know the fun stuff.

p.s. with the tranny twisting around like that, check your torque arm mount, make sure it hasnt been torn up too.

My guess is the fact that the torque arm lifts upward when you romp the loud pedal, and since it is attached to the back of the tranny, the tranny lifts upward.

that is why aftermarket torque arms like Sohn's are so cool. they link the arm directly to the chassis, and not the drivertrain.
