The stock 10 bolt posi's are a joke. Don't even bother with trying to find one. Maybe a 9 bolt with posi, but not a 10 bolt.

Probably your best bet is to pick up a 3.42 rear out of a junk yard, either posi or not. Doesn't matter either way, you are buying it for the gears that are installed in it. I got mine out of a 6cyl. stick car for $75, then put a zexel in it from SLP for $99 plus shipping, and I picked up a set of 28 spline axles for a 90 to 92 to complete the setup. (you have 26 spline axles in your car and they won't work with the zexel) If you get a replacement rear with the 3.42's in it and do drop in a zexel, it's much easier to put the new zexel posi in with the rear out of the car and on a bench.

Do a search on zexel, and take a look a this thread at my post. It kind of details on what's involved in changing the carrier out for a zexel. It's a little work putting the zexel in, but it's more than worth the trouble.

If you have a 9-bolt, you want 3:45 and not 3:42 gears which are not available. Just check back and I am sure Miles will reply with a answer to your question. Good Luck.

Check the classified section. There's a guy up in Michigan selling a 3.42 disc posi. Or just look in the junkyards for a 90-92 V6 car and get that rear...it should be 3.42 ratio. I looked at one this morning.

You can get 9 bolt 3.45s and other ratios from Miles at www.9bolt.com

9 bolt stuff ain't cheap, but it's strong.

yeah its not gointo be cheap to get gears and everything u need to swap from the 2 series carrier to the 3 series carrier. i bought a 9 bolt posi disk rear with 2.77 gears and now im kinda regetin buyin it becuz its goin to cost alot to swap gears and a new posi and installation kit for the 9 bolt. i got the rear for 200 bucks but im not sure if i wanna sell it becuz, the posi works, has new calipers and rotors and i just painted the rear. ill probably give it a few more coats soon.

82Z, keep a close eye on ebay. I saw a complete 3.27 9 bolt with the PBRs go for $150 last week and it was in NJ!!...I thought about it but that's too far to go for me.
