T 56 Gear ratios

Well since i have heard some bad things about the richmond 5 and 6 speeds in my last post i guess im on to another tranny. As i was flipping through an old hot road magazine i saw a 5/16 inch adapter plate that goes on the t56 six speed. it allows you to use your stock bellhousing clutch driveshaft unlike spohns. they only thing you need is a crossmember. so im thinking about getting that and a t56. The thing is i would like to have the ones with only 1 overdrive. which years had these? how strong are they? what are there gear ratios 1-6? Or should i just get the 500ftlb torque tremec?

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but the T56s in the 4th gen F-bodies all have two overdrives but the 93 ones have less overdriven 5th and 6th gears versus the 94-up ones. The 93 model ones are only rated at 400 ft-lbs versus 450ft-lbs for the 94-up gearboxes.

The ratios for the 93 trans are:

First 2.97:1
Second 2.07:1
Third 1.43:1
Forth 1.00:1
Fifth 0.80:1
Sixth 0.62:1
Reverse 3.28:1

For the 94-up ones:

First 2.66:1
Second 1.78:1
Third 1.30:1
Fourth 1.00:1
Fifth 0.74:1
Sixth 0.50:1
Reverse 3.28:1

Keep in mind that the 98-up LS1 T56s will not work on a SBC.

There is no single OD T-56, all of them have 2 OD ratios.

thats just sick. I mean, even with 4.11:1 rear gearing, thats still only 2..06 Final gearing. its like having a TH350 with 2.06 rear gear. its better than a 700R4 with 2.77 gearing. its insane, and i want one.

It's also the same as my 3.23s and five speed (.63 overdrive), but with way more low end! It would kick some ***!

Here are the specs for my T-56. Used my stock bellhousing. Infact I now use a Lakwood scattershield. Bought Spohn TA and a custom DS.

Must say it: I love my T56! Fast on acceleration, easy on gas while cruising. Best of both worlds.

The bad part of it is my T-56 has been sitting on my dining room floor for over 6 months, I've got everything I need to put it in except the energy.
