Hey i have a 91 RS with a 305 TBI and a 700R4 tranny. If im at WOT, the tranny wont shift out of 2nd gear not to mention it doesnt throw the power to the ground. My fluid hasnt been changed in a while so would changing it make that better or is it done for? It has like 128,000 miles on it.....thanks.

 

The capacity on the 3-4 clutch pack is just about gone with the transmission as is to handle WOT shifts. If you do not want to spend the money on a new transmission at this time, and assuming the fluid and the "3-4 clutches and 2-4 band" are in good shape, you could install the Trans-Go Performance Shift kit, Corvette servo, and the larger boost vales to solve this problem. Worst case scenario, you use these parts in the next rebuild.
