I'm sure someone here has a stock shifter that would trade you. It's never going to work as smooth as the stock shifter.

Car: Camaro of course
I think I heard about someone just putting lighter springs in, that was all it took to smooth it out.

i posted on here about that and got no response. I have to practically beat mine into reverse, and it has to be in OD to shift anywhere else. Ratchets up and down fine thru all the fwd gears, but PITA to go to R or P

[i]Originally posted by irocet305 i posted on here about that and got no response. I have to practically beat mine into reverse
(it moves harder that the stock shifter, but without trying it it's hard to tell if it's worse than mine--a quick 'jerk' on mine and it goes into reverse)
, and it has to be in OD to shift anywhere else.
(Shifting into overdrive puts it into rachet mode, shifting out of overdrive takes it out of rachet mode)

If all else fails, make sure the cable isn't bound up.

you have to pay the price to have a bad *** car, if it's a bitch to get it in reverse without hitting park or drive, thats something i'll live with. I could never put up with the stock shifter again. when i get enough passes on it, it'll loosen up a bit.

I just installed one on my camaro. Its stiff.I routed the shift cable as shown in the drawing.I have turbo 350 trans. So far no trouble with getting to reverse or park, just ahve to be in drive and pull up on T handle.Might check your cable routing or shift position on your trans.
