Trans cooler lines

Hey guys-
I just got a stall converter, so I'm installing an aftermarket trans cooler. My question is this- Do I need to plug the holes for the cooler lines in the radiator? If so, what should I use? Some bolts and teflon tape? Any advice is much appreciated

you'd need a plug made for a flare fitting, not a bolt. i'd use both coolers instead of just the aftermarket one.

not a good idea...

Then the coolant in the radiator can actually heat up the trans fluid.

What I've heard is if you live where it gets cold often (northern states) then use the radiator one also (this will help the trans fluid heat up in the winter.) If you live in the south (like I do) plug the one in the radiator and just use the external cooler (since we only have two seasons here in Houston.. FLAMING HOT and "nice")

Yeap, exactly... The radiator will aid in the heating process.

However, not using the radiator especialy in the summer your not only going the lower the trans temp, but will also lower the coolant temp.

You might be able to find some caps at Home Depot.
