i didnt see any bolts like that on my tremec. thats a weird one dude.
its size and shape look like a drain plug....but my intuition tells me that it could be for the speedo....but i doubt it. its shape remins me of the bolts that go in the slave cylinder.
you dont have the setup from fortes i assume?

it was supposed to have been
I bought it from someone who said they got it from forte.
I thought it might be the trans mount bolt but its a little loose in those holes.
I sent Mike forte a note about the bolt (there were two of these type bolts) and also the size for the trans to adatpter bolts (they seem to be missing).. but have not heard back.
The throwout bearing also is different. The one the guy had been using has some notches on the inside

it appears to be the shifter pivot/stop bolts
im still not sure about the throwout.. but I don't think that matters.
Now I just have to stab it up

the regular chevy throwout bearings will work....if it has notches i wouldnt worry about it, it could be just from wear or a strange part number. the input shaft on the tremec is a chevy dimension so you can use an OEM throwout bearing.
I wouldnt plan on hearing from forte....if you didnt buy something there directly from him, he wont talk to you about anything...or in most cases is very reluctant to do so. Hes a real a*shole about that kind of stuff. thats why i only deal with him when totally necessary.

he replied.. but wants me to call him so he can sell me something...
I think I can get everything I need from the parts store as opposed to waiting x more days.
I got it up there with a floorjack under it... but not stabbed. I was too beat after wrestling with it..
Found out in the middle of having a trans on my chest that the driveshaft loop and the exhaust would have to be dropped... (which I had been hoping to avoid).
If I get it stabbed on MLK day I will be happy..

ya mike is not the most customer service oriented guy in the world, or the greatest role model ive ever encountered....but he has a great tranny package unfortunately.
in case anyone ever has the unfortunate fate of being in his store....there is a only one way to get what you want and get the f*ck out of there. if you just go in and stand in line quietly your going to be there for at least 2 hours. He will talk to 5 people at once, and answer the phone at least 5 times during the conversation.....and he will totally forget what you wanted about 15 times.
you have to walk in there like you own the place, plunk down the money and tell him exactly what you want....and if he tries to give you any sh*t give it right back to him....then start walking out. that works everytime. I know, because i have personally stood in the damn store for an hour waiting for a bracket.
