many people will tell ya 3:73s with the T56. i have 3:73s with my T56 and its perfect for the highway. i cruise around 70-75 at 2K.

Here's a post that I made a little while back when trying to decide the same thing. I'm still leaning towards the 4.10's

I was running 4.10's with my T-56 until I blew 3 teeth off the ring gear. Now I am running 3.73's and the car pulled 2 tenths faster in the 1/4. I am running a carbed 355 and it seems to be in its powerband longer with the 3.73's. If you are EFI, 4.10's may be the better choice. Either way, both gears work very well with the t-56

im currently leaning towards the 3.73s. 4.10s just seem too low.

I would go no lower than 3.73's either. If you are still TPI ten you are not pulling much past 5000rpm and you want to be at the end of fourth gear at the track for your best time. A friend of mine has a LS1 with 4:10's and an M6 and at 70 he is close to 2000. But it is done in fourth gear at about 110-115.

I am also running 3.73 but not becuase I choose too. Just used to have that before and now I dont really feel like buying new ones. These gears seem to work well though with the T56. at like 58mph Im revving at about 1,400.

I have 3.73s as well. I cruise at about the same rpm on the highway as I did when the car had 2.73s and the 700r4. 4.10s would be slightly more rpm/mph than the car would have done stock with the 2.73s and auto. Granted, my gearing doesn't match my powerband right now, but I'm not keeping the LO3 very long. 4.10s are not a bad choice for the street. The only thing that is not so great about low gearing like this is that you have to constantly be shifting. Either that, or shift from 1st to third. Otherwise, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are really close together. Either way you go, they are both fine for the street. I've actually seen some people running 4.56s on the street, but I think thats too much already.
