Sounds like your shifting fork is either broken or the little plastic pads on the shifting fork is broken. It is a pretty easy fix.

If you are thinking about only replacing the syncros, then you might not help the problem at all. There are more than just the syncro's affecting shifting in a T5. There are the little square "dogs" and the springs that hold then with the proper pressure against the slider that are also very important.

Best bet is to get the trans video from hanlon for $17 along with their rebuilt kit for around $160 and do it right the first time. The shifter fork pads are included in the kit. So for about $200 you can have a totally rebuilt trans.
