I just pu a Full racing b$m th350 in my 89 rallysport. it has all the goodies, only thing is when it shifts from 1-2 doing 4000+ rpm it sound like a wild freikin bear is hitting the botom of my car right below the console. my question is is there a rubber spacer in between the tranny and the bottom of the car where it mounts up to hold it down(looks like something should be there, theres little clips) also, only about 1/2 inch of my torque arm is in the mount(th350s are two and a half inches shorter)could that be doing it? Also is there another mount, i have a torque arm, the cat mount and that it except for the cross member, seems like ther should be more, or is it the fact that the mounting system in my rallysport isnt meant to hold up to the hard shifts i get out of the tranny(can burn the tires going from 2-3) as always and help or suggestions are appreciated, Thanks!

Sounds like your trans mount is broken, as usual. Get a poly one and never have to worry about it again.

first off, thanks for answering my post. This may sound like a novice question, but which transmount are you talking abouut, this is my first time ever doing a conversion in an f-body. i didnt see any trans mount other than the cat and torque arm in my hanes manual, so did i leave something out all together?

ya cant miss it. its the mount where the back of the tranny mounts to the crossmember.

it bolts on??? my 700r4 was just sitting on the xmember, man, do i feel dumb. btw i know its gonna sound hillbilly but i rigged up the 700r4 crossmember to fit and its kinda awkward, im saving for a custom retrfit xmember, so could that solve my problem, also, like i said the 700r4 didnt actually mount to the xmember, sop could someone be a little more detailed or send a pic? thx

Are you using a 700-r4 tailhousing on a TH350??:nono:

the 700 tailhousing, i have to cause its the ponly one with the torque arm mount, is this a nono?

Your torque arm mount may not last very long with it that far forward. Can you make a plate to move it rearward for more engagement? Or would the extra width cause the mount to hit the tunnel?

i was actually gonna get the torque arm lenghtened by a machinist friend of mine(free) you think that would be ok?
