700R4 no drive or OD

It's an 88T/A with 305TPI and 700R4.. The tranny had started to get to where it slips a little when it shifted from 2nd to drive, now it shifts from 2nd and the RPM's shoot up and, nothing.. it's like neutral, rev all you want but it won't go anywhere. 1st, 2nd, and rev are fine.. Im taking it in to get looked at but any ideas on what it could be would be appreciated.. I was planning on rebuilding the tranny anyways but not right now.. hopefully it can be fixed without having to fork out $1,200 for a rebuild.. Thanks everyone..

why waste 1200 on a rebuilt 700-R4 when you can get a brand new one for under a grand?? or just swap in a T-5 for 500 or less

The 3-4 clutch pack is a weak point in 700R4's. I solved this problem years ago by using 8 Borg Warner Hi-Energy 3-4 clutches (stock 6), the Trans-Go Performance Shift kit, Corvette servo, larger boost valves, etc. Problems with this clutch pack are now pretty much non-existent. If you are looking for a Performance transmission?, go to https://www.pro-built.net/index.cfm?...t&productid=35 and you will see exactly what I do to these units to make them last. Let me know if I can be of help?

How much does shipping usually cost for one of your trannies.. like to Tx.. estimated... don't need the exact amount just an estimate(guess)
