HELP!! BIG TRANNY QUESTION(s) URGENT!!

hey people, i started my T-5 swap today and it is going awesome, HOWEVER-- I do have some questions that i need some help with..my car is a 91Z28 305-- the donor tranny is from a 85 Trans Am 305

1.Should the auto and manual bellhousings sit differently?
or should they look identical-- it seems like the T-5 is going to bolt up to the engine just fine, but its going to be cocked to the driver side-- is that normal/ok??

2.The guy I got the tranny from, didnt send the plugs that go into the clutch safety switch- he sent me the cruise control ones instead- I have the big thick purple/gray wires under my carpeting-- so can i just put them together so the computer thinks the clutch is always depressed, and therefore will start? or is there any other jimmy-rigging I can do to make it work until the switch gets here?

3. how much clutch "padding" would you expect to have left on one that is supposed to only have 5K miles on it- i bought it used because of a strict budget, but i'm not sure what condition it was in

4. Any suggestions for the shifter hole drilling? thats the main step tomorrow-- that and mounting the manual tranny--

You guys are awesome-- your help has been phenominal ever since i've been a member--:hail: if you have any other suggestions, please let me know-- if not, wish me luck for tomorrow(12 mar 03)
Peace

1. Yes, the trans wil be "rotated" with the stock F-body bell housing. This is normal and correct, even though it looks deeply weird to someone not used to it.

2. The plug that goes into the clutch safety switch is already in your car. It has 2 big fat wires, one yellow and one purple. Right now it has an "extension" that goes over to the auto shifter plugged into it. Unplug the extension, and plug it into the clutch safety switch instead.

3. A clutch should last 60k miles, or more. At 5k it's hardly broken in yet. Should be good to use.

4. Sheet metal nibbler.

well i got the job done today-- but with many kinks and bugs to workout-- i'll list them and hopefully someone can help--

#1. just FYI the wires for my car are purple and tan/white(not yellow) and they pluged into some black box that was connected to the shifter--
the purple/yellow wires on my car are for the vehicle speed sensor-

#2 the car drives alright--however, that annoying buzz sound that is on for like 5 seconds when the car cranks up normally, stays on all the time- it wont shut off-- also, i have no tachometer, oil pressure, engine temp or voltmeter gauges-- they dont work-- only fuel level does(i think)--

#3 the car seems to want to stall when i push in the clutch and slow down-- it never does, but the rpms drop a whole lot and then come up to normal-- Is that normal?

please help me people!! :hail:
