Problems shifting to OD

The tranny will not stay in OD when the car has warmed up on the highway. Moreover, it acts like it's in neutral too. When I give it gas, it will rev up to about where it should be for 3rd gear. When I let off, it acts like its in neutral and the engine speed drops down to idle. Anyone have similiar problems? I just installed this tranny in my car. thanks.

i dont no about the revin and idle thing but i thought od was suppost to feel like its in nutral when u take your foot off the gas, not engine brake> mean u dont have to press the gas as much = u save gas.

Well, yes, OD is supposed to keep the engine speed closer to idle, however, when I let off the gas the engine idles and when I give it gas it turns nearly 3000 rpm.

If anyone cares, the problem was a badly adjusted TV cable. I had some problems fabricating a new bracket and finally got it right.
