Shifter lose in reverse...backup lights don't always come on
My auto shifter seems to be lose when in the reverse position. The back up lights only come on if you push the shifter forward towards park. If it's back towards neutral, they go out. Any ideas?

Reverse Lights
You have contacts on your shifter that ground a wire out and make the reverse lights come on. I had the same problem with mine and after installing a B&M Shifter it worked fine. However, I dont think you will be installing a new shifter so you can take a look at it by simply pulling the console up and rotating it to the side the contacts are on the left side of the shifter. Try adjusting it or bending it so it has a little more tension against the shifter. Hope this works for you.

There's a black switch body on the right side of the shifter assembly that contains the reverse light switch and the park/neutral safety switch. You can loosen the two screws that hold it to the shifter body and adjust its position relative to the shifter.
