T/V cable problem

I adjust my cable procedure below, everything works fine for about a day, if that long. Then, things go bad and teh car will take forever to shift 24-30 MPH in first. Second gear comes in hard, squeels the tires and kicks the rear sideways. Third gear is also late.

My 17 year old son drives the car. Believe it or not, he complains about 2nd gear scratch!

Does this sound like a cable stretch or maybe adjusting wrong?

1.push button
2.push black sleeve all the way towards firewall
3.floor pedal

instead of using the gas pedal, try rotating it out with the throttle linkage.

Another method is to hold the throttle linkage open all the way, push the button in, and push the black sleave in till it stops without moving the throttle linkage
