Can I launch my car yet or What? ( new clutch)
I installed my Centerforce dual friction a couple weeks ago. I had the flywheel re-surfaced and everything.
Anyway, the papers say 400-500 miles of stop-n-go traffic before you really launch it. So far I drove to Huntington Beach -150 mile round trip, Santa Barbara ( 350 miles) and have done about 50 miles of traffic driving in town.
Do you guys think I'm OK to launch? I have gotten on it pretty good and done some powershifts and stuff, but I'm kinda scared to really launch it. I just put my new intake on yesterday, and my new distributor, she's ready to rock.
BTW: I'm not that impressed with this clutch, it doesn't slip but it doesn't grab that hard. I tried to chirp 3rd last night and it didn't really happen. My 1-2 shift will get wild, but I guess I was just expecting more. Maybe the new intake is giving me a bit less torque on the shift, but the power band has risen and the horsepower is definately noticable.

....
UM......YEAH....
Did a trial launch and uh.......yeah it's time to put some money into traction. The car gets awful loose if I give her more than 1/2 throttle.
Time for LCA relocating brackets and boxing of my stock LCA's.
