Does this mean my TV Cable is too short?!

Okay... I have adjusted my TV Cable about 20 times. There have been 5 other people that have also tried. I have tried EVERY method I've found. I'm currently using transfixleo's method. The problems I am having are, the car/transmission JERKS VERY HARD when shifting from Park to Drive and the 1st to 2nd shift is VERY HARD. I have changed the tranny mount, changed the fluid/filter, and checked the U-joints. The reason I think the TV Cable may be too short is, whenever I move the slider towards the front of the car, the JERKS get WORSE. Whenever I move the slider towards the firewall, they get SOFTER/BETTER. However, it seems that I am running out of cable and I keep hitting against the black plastic cable housing sheath. I was wondering if I put a longer cable on, would it fix my problems? I have only had the car about a month and it has always had the problem. The guy I bought it from, said it had the problem whenever he bought it. Perhaps the cable needed replaced and someone put the wrong size back on. Anyways, any help would be appreciated.

-Thanks

The same thing happened with the IROC-Z I just bought. She's got a 5.7, and the TV cable was too short. The clip was broken at the throttle valve because it was too short, and it wouldn't allow the throttle cable to travel to it's fullest extent. JMD was kind enough to help me through everything. Thanx man!

Anyway...I bought a cable that was year specific and it was perfect. Then, like a dumbass I broke the plastic housing on the cable at the transmission trying to slide it into the port. So then what? I got pissed and ordered a stainless steel Lokar cable. That was the longest of all. Now things work the way they should.
