stick to auto swap

hello all, im new around here so be easy on me. I am building a KITT conversion out of my 1982 TA V8, and would like to know what is all involved in changing my T-5 manual to a Automatic, would the shifter assembly out of a V6 setup work, like the center console shifter?, this car doesnt have a rearend, so i will be using the rearend out of my V6 Bird, My TA is a carb 305, any help is appreaciated thanks

also one other question i have is, what kind of wiring is gonna have to be added in? i know that the wires off the T5 for the reverse will be hooked upto the auto shifter, what about all the other wires that hook onto the auto shifter?

On the clutch pedal there will be a neutral safety switch I think they are Brown and purple good size wire you will need to run them wires to the shifter. The shifter should have the same size wire don't know if the color will match but you will be able to tell what ones because of the wire size and that should be it. OOO...There will be two extra wires on the shifter that you will not need to use I think they are Black w/White stripe and Orange w/ Black stripe....Hope this helps!

What tranny you going to run? TH350 or a 700R4? You can use the same speedo but you are going to have to get diffrent gears so it will read right. There should be no other wiring I just did that swap on my car and that was all I had to do.

Both of you can go here http://www.tciauto.com/tech_info/speedo_gears.htm

Put your info in and it will tell you what gears you need to get the speedo to work right!
