It is popping out of 5th and grinding in reverse. Other than that it is OK, I hope
Thanks

Right on. I'll work on the refresh kit pricing tomorrow, and then when you get it apart, we'll talk 5th gear parts if necessary.

Just an FYI....
That D&D Performance place wants:
$229 for synchros
$199 for bearings
$49 for the steel 3-4 shift fork (stock one is cast AL and is poopey).
Doesn't sound too bad but then again I haven't priced anything out for this stuff.... like at all!

The "popping out of 5th" issue is most likely a bent shift fork. The 5th-6th fork is not as strong as the 1st-2nd and 3rd-4th forks (they are overdrive gears after all,) so if someone liked to powershift into 5th they could VERY easily have bent the fork.
When I bought my T-56 it had no 4th gear and popped out of 3rd. I paid $16 for a 3-4 shift fork, and a few bucks for a full set of shift fork pads, and voila!! It shifts perfectly into every gear. Definitely get the steel forks, they're well worth the money (wish I had know about them when I tore mine down.....)
Reverse is a synchro issue. The reverse synchro is brass, the others are all composite. It doesn't like being shifted into reverse while moving forward.
