Shift Light in an automatic??

I have an 86 T/A , 305 , 4bbl , automatic . why does my shift light come on all the time ???

It comes on when teh TCC locks. The ECM driver/wire is shared between the TCC and the stick-shift up shift light.

In actuality there shouldn't be a bulb there.
