What auto trannies were available in third gens? I'm almost positive I had a th400 in my 83 because it was a 3 speed (I guess OD could have just been out) and I just recently found out that the 4 speed tranny in my 84 was a 700 based on the build sheet. I know my 89 has a 700 as well. So what other auto trannies were available to third gens? I claimed that my 83 was a 400 on the newsgroups AACF(alt.autos.camaro.firebird) and everyone is telling me that I'm full of it. Can anyone concur or dissent?

No TH400's offered by the factory in 3rd gens. If one was in there, someone put it in after the factory was done with it.

Non-OD's in '82-'83 were TH200C. A very, very few have been reported to have received TH350.

Vast majority are TH700R4. '84-after all automatics are TH700R4.
