Car shakes when tranny shifts

For the past couple of weeks when Im driving (stop and go) my car shakes vigorously whenever my tranny shifts gears, if I stay steady on the gas the shaking continues until I press the gas and the tranny shifts. I dont notice the shaking at high speeds on the beltway as much but its still there. Also today when I was riding home my tranny started flucuating, riding at about 30 mph the rpm's would increase then decrease then increase and decrease for about a minute straight while I was at constant speed. Then for the first time when I got home my car would not backup in Reverse so I pulled into the parking spot. Then I turned the car off and back on and now Reverse works fine. Thanks for any help on my problem. I can get another 700r4 for free I would just have to pay for someone to install it.

Today the tranny wouldnt shift outta gear, I was traveling 30 mph on the beltway and the tranny was stuck on 4000 rpm's then its started making this pulsating grinding noise, I think its done for.

I think it's time for a new tranny.

Why pay someone to install it, if you have basic hand tools, and a good floor jack you can do it yourself. And if you need help one of us on here can walk you through it. just my .02

Check your transmission mount to make sure it is properly secured and has plenty of rubber. This happens to my 89 occassionally and torquing it down solves the delimna. It's also low cost...
