any 700r4 rebuild guides?

Im new to rebuilding transmissions. Never done it before. SO I was wondering if anyone knew a good book or online site or anything that could aid me in this task. Pulled the motor and trans out of my 91 rs. I have a tuned port 383 going in and I am torn between running a th350 or rebuild my 700r4. I am on a very limited budget especially after building the engine and swapping over to TPI.

Any help would be great.

I just got through rebuilding my trans this weekend for the first time! I went to Autozone and pick up a hany rebuid manual for gm transmissions! it was very helpful. Cleanliness and organization is vey importam!!!! As far as special tools ather than basic tools you need a tool to compress a set of springs in the bottom of the housing. Good luck as it is kind of complicated.

Your local tranny shop should be willing to remove the retainer
and piston at the rear of the case for a small fee. They might do it for free! Get a Technical Video or an ATSG manual for your model
of tranny. I also have a Haynes GM Transmission manual 10360.
It has a lot of good pictures and text for a $20 book.
