anyone using a Spec Clutch???
I finally torched the Centerforce DF after 2 years, 15k miles and about 65 passes on slicks....
so needless to say i have no complaints about it at all....but im kinda in the mood to try something different....and I like the application specific stages of clutch disks that SPEC offers......but i dont know anyone who has one or had one.....
so lets hear it...

I put a SPEC Stage 3 in my 98 Z28 a few monthes ago. There's a lot of people on the ls1.com boards running them. So far, I'm pretty happy with it. The grip is amazing, but it chatters a little bit.
I don't know of anybody using in them in third gens, though.

I have a Spec stage 3 feeding the T-56 in my '91. It's been there for 2 years and 30k miles and I absolutely LOVE it. It does chatter once in a while...mainly when backing uphill or trying to "ease" the car into a certain position. When you're out on the street it doesn't chatter at all. It also doesn't slip at all....very "grab-and-go" when you dump the clutch. I highly recommend them.
The biggest reason I got one to begin with was that their shop is about 20 min from me and I was trying to get the swap done that weekend and hadn't ordered a clutch yet. I went over there on Friday afternoon and payed cash.....they loved seeing that!! Now I'm hooked on their clutches.

Nevermind, I think I know where you got it from. I forgot that you got the 5 speed clutch and i'm shopping for a t56 clutch. That explains the $200 difference that caught my eye.

It's pricey because it's a unique design. The '93-'97 T-56 uses a pull-style clutch where the clutch fork actually pulls the pressure plate away from the disc instead of pushing the throwout bearing into the "fingers" which use a lever action to pull the plate out. It's a good design but it's a little rough on throwout bearings. They tend to whine after a few thousand miles.

whats the pedal pressure feel like? the stock clutch (well whatever clutch is in it, 120k miles) has a very very stiff pedal, requires a lot of pressure. my girlfriend drives the car 90% of the time, so if the pressure is lighter than stock thats a plus. I had a spec in my 99 before the auto conversion, and with the adjustable master/slave, the pedal pressure was extremely stiff, i dont want this for the 91.
