post t-56 install problem

Ok yesterday my d@mn drive shaft fell out of my car....I turned out that it was my u joint bearing that popped off...how that happened i dont know.....

Ok its turned out that it was that for way universal joing with the bearings on it that broke so i replaced it along with two new u joint bolt... now there is another problem....

When i hit about 50 or so there is and loud grinding noise coming from the font sounds like the gear box mabey....also my car shakes more at higher speed the shakingi asume is because the driveshaft is in wrong but aht noise i have no idea i thought it was trans fluid since seom spilled out when i took out the drive shaft so i put some more in and it still makes that noise some please help me...

thanks
james

The shaking could be you need your driveshaft rebalanced.

well, I did not see where you said it fell out in your driveway?

I was thinking that the output shaft may be bent slightly causing the yoke to rub on the tail housing bushing funny or something having to do with the output shaft. it could be a lot of things. chipped gear or even a real bad bearing. but, who knows it may just be the vibration you are hearing. its real hard to diagnoise a noise when you are not there to hear it.

Grinding could be the front u-joint chewing itself to pieces. When the back one went it would have put a lot of stress on the front one....maybe enough to break a few needles. If you still have the stock driveshaft I'd recommend going to an aluminum one, since the steelies weren't balanced very well to begin with and it may be slightly warped from falling out of the car.

I agree, put in a differant drive shaft (known good) and then see how it is.
