i have an 89 firebird 350 tpi, my 3&4 clutch went out and i bought a tranny off a guy, 700r4, now i know there is a difference from 86 and below from 86 and up, what is the difference between them cause i think i bought one for 86 and below, it has a vaccuum line coming out of the top, didnt the older ones have a vac system to it. or not please someone tell me what the diff is between the years and if i can use this tranny or not, thanks

 

The onlt difference that I'm aware of it the spline count on the input shaft. Make sure you get or have A torq converter from a pre 86 trans as well. Otherwise it will bolt up to your block just fine.
