when I parted out one of my cars (an '88 5-speed) it had the auto connector under the center console more by the radio pod. if you have this connector too. then just plug it in to the stock shifter for your car and you should have nothing to worry about. assuming its the same.

I have done this swap and the wiring is no problem. Make sure that the T5 has the connector for the backup lights and the speedo sending unit, otherwise cut them off the donor car. From there, it is just a matter of cutting and splicing a few wires. This was the easiest part of the swap, nothing to worry about here.

Yeah, you dont need all six wires. As far as donor car wiring is concerned, the reverse lighting and speedo wires are contained in the same loom that runs along the driver's side of the trans. There are only 4 wires in this loom. You need this loom, so cut it about 12 inches from the backup light sensor. You can even keep the loom plugged into the trans. Now put it aside.

The six wires coming off the shifter plate do the following:
2 wires are for backup lights
2 wires are for the neutral saftey switch
2 wires are for the "apply brake to shift from park" solenoid
(I dont know the colors off hand, but I can get them)

Here's what you do. Unplug the auto shifter and throw it away. Cut the connector off, because you dont need it anymore. The two wires coming off the transmission reverse light sensor need to be spliced into the two wires in the car harness that pertain to the reverse lights. It's just a simple power and ground hookup, nothing tricky there.

The two wires that plugged into the neutral saftey switch on the auto shifter can either be run to a clutch pedal saftey switch on the pedal assembly, or just spliced together to bypass the clutch safty switch. These are inline from the ignition switch to the starter so they either need to be spliced together to create a complete circut, or run to the clutch safty switch to complete the circut. I just soldered them together. It's up to you.

The third pair of wires are pulled out of the car when the auto pedal assembly is pulled out of the car. They go from the brake pedal position switch to the shifter so when you push the brake you can shift from park. You need to transfer the brake pedal position switch from the auto pedal assy to the manual pedal assy because the brake light connector is different. Just pulg the brake lights back in and leave the "shift from park" connector unplugged.

Once you get in there and start the swap, it becomes very self explanitory. I can get the wire color codes, as well as wiring diagrams tomorrow so you can see what you need to do. The wiring is the easy part, its cutting the hole in the floor that is hard.

Ohhhh! Manual to an auto!! I read it backwards. I dont know anything about that, or even why you would want to, LOL. You might have a real hard time with the TCC lockup and stuff, since the car harness will be missing all that. Break out your ECM pinout diagram!

There's many reason's why you would want to, but I won't get into that.

its the same thing he said only backwards.

take the clutch saftey switch wires and hook them up to the parking/nutural switch wires on the auto shifter....

matter of fact, you should be able to match everythign by color if you cut the auto harness off of a donor car....

i took apart the big plastic slider connector switch and looked at where the contacts touched what to decide what to connect where.... if i recall, it wasnt too hard to figure out once its in front of you...
