rear 10 bolt
Check your RPO codes if you have them for G-80 which is for a limited slip rear (aka Posi). However with your combo I don't think you have it. Also the Diff fluid has nothing to do with your brake system.

how can I tell if it is a posi or not without having to remove the cover
Use the tubular style gasket. Screw a bunch of paper spacers.
The rear end grease and the brake fluid have nothing to do with each other.

The "codes" only tell you what came in the car, not what's in there now. Many tales of woe have been posted about people who actually believed what their "codes" said, only to take their car apart and find something completely different from how the "codes" say it came (usually downgraded.... TPI motors with swirl-port heads, posi codes with one-wheel-peel in the car, etc.) Believe your "codes" if you want; but if you want to get it right with absolute certainty, take off your cover and look, otherwise you're taking a risk.
Don't bother with a paper gasket. It is a waste of time and money, and will be more likely to leak than the alternatives. Use the tubular style of gasket. I recommend Ultra Black.

Dude that Ultra Black comes in a squeeze tube, its not an regular gasket. Yes the rear end grease does run down to the axle tubes to the brakes, but there is a seal that stops the grease from entering the brake drum area. The brake fluid only goes into the wheel cylinders that push out the brake shoes. The two systems are completly independent of each other and if either one starts leaking into the brake drum area it will cause problems, hence why I am replacing both of them tonight.
