I installed the transgo performance shift kit in my '86 700r4. Shortly after i burned the band because of too many washers. Took it to a shop, they rechecked the shift kit and said everything was done properly. While they were in there i had them yank out oem parts and instal heavier duty parts, with more clutch packs. I then put it back into the car. Worked fine for a while, then it would pull out in second sometimes, then all the time, so i stopped running it. Then when i went to put it away id shift it to any gear and it would not engage into any gear, just dead. Let it sit for a day went back got it to catch reverse and backed it into the corner. Whats awrong with it. I thought the governor was sticking because of the second gear pullouts, but when it turned into a dead fish i was thinking pump or torque converter. I got a rebuilt one with a higher stall.
