I know the Ls1 driveshaft has a dampner from the factory, but are there any other driveshafts out there that will fit the third gen, aftermarket or factory, that do as well?

i think performance and price u cant go wrong with the ls1 ds's.

i just looked on ebay at least 5 auctions and they seem to go for less than 150 complete.

the stock thirdgen aluminum shafts were more balanced than the stock steel 3rdgen shafts but didnt have dampeners as far as i can tell looking at mine.

One word.....

www.car-parts.com

they go from 75-150 there, just bought mine today for 110 .

As far as your question....LPE aluminum driveshafts are 3.5" and have a dampener. Thier 300 bucks new, your best bet is the ls1 driveshaft.

hmmm, all the pics of the lpe shaft i have seen show no dampner. I just wanted to know if there was anything out there besides the ls1 shaft that has a dampner on it, but it looks like there isn't. If that's the case, i'll be buying an ls1 shaft soon.

There is a Dampener on the LPE, believe its built in, let me get the quote off the page.....Oh, im not sure if this is the same thing but:

"The LPE driveshaft also includes an internal driveline noise suppression system and is high speed balanced to reduce vibrations. LPE recommends this heavy-duty driveshaft for virtually all high speed and racing applications.

Do all LT1 steel shafts have it. My LT1 gets a serious vibration at around 110 all the way up to 135. I blame the driveshaft since everything, including the tires can handle the speed. I can't wait to get rid of it.

my 94 formula had it, but it was still a 94. I don't think 93 did, but it's been a while since i've been under one.

Wow, LPE makes a piece of high-density foam shoved inside the tube sound really complex.

LOL, is that all it is? Hahaha, yea a lot of companies exagerate about things like that, claiming they are "state of the art" or "high tech".
