T-5 Need Help Quick!

I have had some T-5's take trans. fluid and some I have had that take gear oil....did they ever have one that took "MOTOR OIL" ?????
when I changed my shifter it looks to me that the fluid I saw in there looks and smells like motor oil
anyone have a clue if some had that in them????

thanks in advance!

It's probably burnt up old trans fluid. Thats what your car takes ATF or Syncromesh, synthetic light weight gear oil.

If your replacing the fluid you might consider running down to the GM dealer and getting a few quarts of syncromesh. It will cost a bit more but the service interval and protection is doubled.
