engine swap, no feel to shifter

Engine: L69
Transmission: muncie T-10
engine swap, no feel to shifter
i put in a new engine and hooked the stock trans back up. ITs a stock 4sp in a 82 Z28. The shifter is just slop now. What could be the problem, linkage hooked up wrong?
