Car will not shift right!

I have a 1984 700R4 transmission. I had a shop do a distributor & carb swap (Demon 650) about 3 days ago since then my car has not been shifting correctly it will not up shift till 3000rpm at part throttle and the passing gear will not engage at all. I brought it back to the shop and they tried adjusting the TV cable and still no change. I have been reading and it says that if a transmission does not receive enough vacuum it could cause late shifts, can it be a vacuum hose not hooked up correctly? Any advice is helpful.

Thanks

No vacuum on a 700r4. TH350 yes, 700 r4 no. I would still think TV Cable adjustment.

Well he reused the q-jet throttle and TV cable brackets and just used the holes that were already on the Demon's linkage. Do I need to get an aftermarket-mounting bracket? I had bought a Spectra TC and Throttle bracket but he said it did not fit and sat to low?

I would bet where the tv cable is placked on the linkage is either pulling it too tight( too soon). You need to back off the adjuster and slowly work your way up on the tension.

Initally it will shift too soon. then as you adjust it will get closer to where you like it. Beight that it is not stock it will take some fooling with to get it set.
