Yukon from Randy's Ring and Pinion. You already knew that.

I've used Richmonds too, but they are expensive and always seem to whine, even when set up properly.

yeah richmonnds are notorious for whinning loudly though...which is perfectly fine....but for a newbie to gear swaps like me...a whine would scare me into pulling the rear back apart...

too bad the gears i got were bad.... --pinion head wobbled--

you could visually see it wobble when you spin th pinion around in the rear .....

the guy i bought it from off of ebay said he would send me another set which is cool.....glad to see the guy is willing to work with people.....he seems to sell quite a btit of used gears....and you just gotta expect SOME of them to not be 100% good..

Quality is on par with OEM or Richmond, but you can't beat the price!

Yukkon are the best bang for the buck. PRO tech are all right also and cheap.

I got motive, but I don't like how they don't engrave the backlash onto their gear sets. Those of you with other gears, do they have the backlash engraved into them?

What? i know my gf gears dont have the backlash engraved into them and id like to know whats a good place to set them at, i know all companies vary......but inbetween .006 an .0010 is a safe guesstamate for *most* gears.......correct me if im wrong.

i really have no idea wtf the GM specs are for it, ever try to call gm and ask them ANYTHING? heh....they couldnt even give me a damn price on 3.73s *new* ...they asked for my vin # and claimed the gears could NEVER fit in the car, no matter what i did....well ...when i say *they* i mean the moron on the other end of the phone.

I know what you mean. I called my local chevy dealer to find out what speedo gears came in v6 cars with 3.42's. The guy tried to tell me they had 7 and 19. Those were never even made. Took me 4 dealerships to finally get someone who had a clue and was able to look it up and tell me they had 15 and 41.

Good to know, except I told him I had an auto. The second dealership I called told me it was impossible for them to even look it up. I thought it was funny when I finally got a guy who knew what he was talking about and the first thing he did was look it up.

I'm pretty sure 17/37 is for 2.73's. 15/41 is for 3.42's. 15/45 is for 3.73's. Beyond that nothing is available.

Do you happen to have a part number, seeing how GM people are retarded and insist the only way to gt parts is trhough a VIN # heh

yes, i'm pretty sure that's right. I don't have the part numbers on hand, but I checked on gmpartsdirect and when you include shipping they are more than just getting them straight from the dealer. Best thing to do would be to just go to your local chevy and hopefully find someone competant enough to look up the gears for you and order them. I think it was about $9 each with tax for me.
