Which tranny do I have

I got an 88 camaro 2.8 v6 MPI. It's a auto w/ overdrive, I looked for about 30 min trying to find the answer but nothing, sorry if I did miss a post. I'm hopeing it a 700r4 so it can bolt up to a v8 Im getting ready to drop in. Thanks all.

i am not sure but i think that the bolt pattern might be different between the 2.8litre tranny and the v8 that you want to drop in.

Yes you have a 700.

No it will not bolt to a V8. The bolt pattern is different.

Yes they make them with different bolt patterns, for the various motors. The 700 was also the stock trans behind V8s in these and other cars and trucks so they're not hard to find.
