How much power can the 9 bolt take?

I was wondering how much power the 9 bolt rear end can stand. I am building a 383 which should have around 425 horse backed by a built 700R4. I am going to rebuild the 9 bolt with the kit from 9bolt.com and switch in the 3.90 gears. I dont plan on running slicks, but possibly BF Goodrich drag radials or eagle F1's. Do you think the 9 bolt will last? Or should i just save my money for a custom 9 inch or 12 bolt rather than spending around 500 dollars rebuilding the 9 bolt?

Should be fine.... traction is what kills them, and street tires like that will protect the rear.

I was always told that a BW 9bolt was quite strong, and capable of taking lots of abuse when properly taken care of.

Is that a myth?
