No OD when cold
I just got an '87 Firebird, beat up and what not, and it refuses to kick into gear when you place it into OD, when you first start the car. Putting it in Drive engages the transmission, but placing it back into OD kicks the car into neutral. After the car is nice and warmed up, you can put it into OD and it works fine, and you can start the car and place it directly into OD, no problem. I plan on doing a tranny flush in a few weeks, anyway. Is this a sign that the tranny is going to quit soon?

Could just be a plugged orifice in the valvebody. The thick cold trans fluid may not make it thru but when it gets warm its able to pass thru.
