anyone have a set of 2.73's laying around?

anyone have an old set kicking around left over from a gear change? friend needs them for a project, ive thrown out 3 or 4 old rears that had them, and now that a friend is looking for 'em i dont have any....

as long as theyre useable, he'll give ya a few bucks + shipping for your troubles. thx.

I have a whole 2.73 drum brake rearend with the factory posi unit. I also have a 3.23 set of gears on an open carrier.

wishmaster, i just need the gears. if you were closer i'd come get the whole axle.

but i'd hate to have you pull apart a good rear end, thats why i was asking for someone with a set just laying around. but if the axle is scrap and you want to pull the gears out and send them to me i'd (my friend would) toss you $20 plus shipping.

I have an 87 iroc drum rear with a posi and 273's im going to be pulling it in about 4 weeks its in perfect working order

just ran to garage real quick i have a set of 273's out of a 9 bolt sittin on the floor in good shape

9 bolts are 2.77's... they wont fit. needs to be out of a 10 bolt.

if i dont find anything before you pull that other axle out...

you wanting the whole rearend or just the posi unit with gears?

heres a picture of the rearend as it sits now.

Its got 1.5 year old wheel cylinders and I also have the drums and all the brake hardware too. Shoot me an PM about it if you want to talk about it some more

and heres the posi unit with gears when I replaced an axle seal last year.

Dont pay attention to the red mark, thats when I was asking question about where the C-clips were.

thanks for the quick replys guys. ive been emailed about a few sets and found a rear locally so i think i'm good.


theyre for a street stock racecar, my buddy is trying out some different gear options. the final drive ratio in 2nd gear is whats important, so with his tranny he thinks 2.73's might be what he needs. i told him i was pretty sure i could find a set for him, ya just have to know where to ask.


and he couldnt use the posi anyways, track rules = open rear only
