as far as I have ever seen the ripper and others won't. I know the box makes you think they will but, they have a very differant bolt pattern

Yep, that's right. You have to get a Hurst shifter for the T-5 in a Camaro/Firebird. I got the Billet Plus (gold base) version for mine, and love it. I also picked up a shorter stick from a dude off eBay and used a Hurst leather **** on it. A definite improvement there as well. I can provide the guy's e-mail for the shorter stick if anyone else wants one.

Hey Vern, I might be quite interested in the shorter stick for my Billet Plus in my T-56. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the stick run you? Was it a new Hurst stick, or was it one of the ones from the 4th gens? Thanks for any info!

Hurst short shifter stick
Actually, the stick I bought was made by an individual to replace the Hurst stick with a shorter one. His workmanship on mine is excellent, and it accepts any 4th Gen shifter **** (metric threads as opposed to the ones on the 3rd Gen sticks). He actually sells them as 4th Gen shorter throw sticks, but told me a couple of guys have put them on the 3rd Gen models as well. I chatted with one of them, and decided to give it a try. It works great! And the shorter throw is very nice. So this stick is even shorter than the regular sticks on the 4th Gen. You just unbolt your existing stick and bolt this one on. Even came with the bolts. I checked my old auctions, and I paid him $25 including shipping for it last fall. Drop the guy a line if you're interested, his name and contact info is: Jarrod Holland [jarrodholland@yahoo.com].
I still like mine and consider it a nice "upgrade". You might mention that the guy in Dallas with the T-5 he sold one to passed on his info. I've got no relationship or deal with him, but at least he'll know we're spreading the word for him on a good product (at least in my opinion).
