T56 swap question (searched)
I have 4th gen manual pedals but am working on getting thirdgen pedals as I believe they will be easier to use. My question is about the slave cylinder and hydrallic lines? Do I use 3rd or 4th gen lines. I would asssume 4th and they come preassembled from dealer. But want to be 100% sure before I commit any more $$$ to this swap. My car is an auto currently. Thanks in advance for any help or advice you may offer.

The 4th gen stup will have the line already installed and operating, and works perfect. The thirdgen line will be nearly a foot too short. Go with the 4th. In fact, that line is just barely long enough, there's really not alot to spare.

Thanks for your help everyone...I just wanted to be sure before I purchased it. I already have a new Wilwood slave cylinder..but it didn't have the lines or resevior. I just am glad you all people know everything you do. =) Time for GM to get a lil more of my paycheck now.

i myself was wondering a few things about the switch over to the t56. Im putting a 93 t56 into my 92 rs that came with the t5 from the factory.
now..
why exactly do you need a new master/actuator cyl. combo to go with the new trans. Also i dont have any of those parts for the new trans, pretty much just have the trans. What else will i have to get to go along with the the master/actuator cyls ? To this i mean what lines and a resivoir.. does this stuff come in a kit.. etc?

i have the new clutch assembly and flywheel from centerforce already. few more msc. parts and i should be good.
EDIT: after doing a few more searches ive seen quite abit about a box that switchs the signal to your speedo. I have a 92 camaro so i should already ave the electric speedo. Am i still going to need the recalibration box?

Yes you will need the box, or something. The signal from the T-56 is something like 40 pulses per revolution, and your TBI ECM wants 4 per rev IIRC.
Get teh whole hydraulic assembly, pre-assembled and pre-bled, from GM. In a box ready to install. Reservoir, MC, line, and SC.
It's completely different from the T-5 stuff. Actually, I should say it's exactly the same, except for being totally different. You'll see.
