I just picked up all the T5 parts from a 1988 Firebird (5.0TPI) for a T5 swap on my Monte and I have some questions.

What is the 5th gear ratio in this transmission?

What parts do I need to get to convert the speedo output from electrical to mechanical?

I belive 5th gear should be .63

 

You take out the thing on the left (electronic VSS), and put in the thing on the right (mecahincal gear "sleeve"). One bolt. With the correct gear to match your rear end of course.

 

Can that mechanical sleeve be found on a TH700, TH350, etc? Or is it just a T5 specific item?

Not from any auto trans; could be from any manual trans with a cable speedo though (Muncie, T-10, T-5, Saginaw, etc.); or get one at the dealer.
