Help with quik t5 question.
Just wondering if it 100% necisarry for the little ball and spring to be on the piece that cups the ball on the end of the shifter and the shifter shaft. I hope you know what im talking about cause I forgot to put it in when I was assembling my trans and dont want to have to take the case apart again and re seal it. yea im that lazy.

I would say yes it is like 99 percent necessary. That ball helps the stick stay locked in. You could probably use it without it but your gears will not click into place and they could fall back out. It is not worth ruining your tranny if you ask me. Don't be lazy and just put it back in.

Get one that fits smoothly and not too sloppy in the offset lever block. If you have the spring still, then you're good to go.

If you went ball bearing shopping, then you would have to find one that fits as I described.
The latter is what I was recommending.
Either someone goofed up when the trans. was previously assembled or you lost it.
