Aluminium driveshaft problem

Im trying to match up this driveshaft (off a 2000 Z28) to my stock yoke. I had the Ujoints replaced on the DS, and the yoke doesnt want to seat the DS (because of the clips being in the way). Is there a specific yoke I can get that will help (one off a 2000 Z28?) or am i going to have to get new u joints?

The u-joints are the problem.. The driveshaft I took from a 2000 Z28 fit perfectly (the yoke is the same as our cars)..

Squeeze the end caps together with a pair of channel locks or something to compress the grease seals.

Looks to me, just looking at the difference between the 2 grease seals in that pic, like the cap that's to the right in the pic has a roller that's come out of its place where it goes and is laying in the bottom of the cap, and it's keeping the cap from going on all the way.

I havnt put it all together, but I did get the yoke and driveshaft to fit together, but just BARELY. So I hope they will continue to stay together.

Did you check to make sure the rollers are all in place?

If they're not, you'll be back right where you are now, except a little poorer.

Thanks for all the help. Its all back together. Iv driven about 100 miles, most 80mph on the interstate, and I see no leaks yet (although all of a sudden 1-2 gear shift is slow. 3-4 shift always has been...)
