TH350 swap troubles
Well, it was a long day yesterday and I ran into some issues:
1) The driveshaft doesn't want to slide on more than an inch or so...its keyed, but neither of the output shafts (700r4 or th350) are. It slides on and off of the old tranny perfectly, but not onto the new tranny (this is with the back end free to move around).
2) Torque arm mount: The bushing doesn't mount on the B&M bracket....I think I'll just drill the bracket out and cut a bit off the bushing mount.
3) Old speedo=electronic, new speedo=mechanical....?
This is a 9" tailshaft th350. Any help is appriciated.

One of the torque arm bushings you have to remove from your stock mounts, I beleave it's the ones with the bolts attached to it. It's attached by a couple rivits that you have to drill/grind off and then the bushing attaches to the B&M bracket with a couple small screws. The B&M bracket has several holes. you'll just have to move the bushing around till you find the holes that line up with those on the metal piece that the bushing is attached to.
I'm not sure on speedo going from 700r4 to turbo350 but I know you can swap out the tailshaft houseing internals from 700r4 to 700r4 to make an elect. to mech and vice versa.
As for the driveshaft it should slide rite in unless maybe you have something stuck down inside your yoke.

Hopefully the splines on the output shaft of the TH350 aren't damaged. If you can find another yoke to try that would confirm it.

You can actually swap the old 700R4 tailshaft on there and solve both the torque arm mount problem, and the speedo issue. It may not be worth it just for the torque arm mount problem, but it probably is worth it for the speedo mismatch. Try a search on it, there's more posts about it.
