five speed from v6 same as from v8?
I found a firebird around town for 500 bucks with a v6 and a five speed. I did a search and cant find if the five speed is the T5? Is it the same as the ones they put in the v8's? Can't find the info anywhere. I want to put this into my 1991 TPI 5.0 Camaro. Thx in advance.

i believe they are different the v6 has a totally different bolt pattern than the v8 and i thought i read somewhere that the input shaft on the v6 5speeds are a little smaller if i remember correctly but i could be wrong on that dont quote me .....

It is the same for the most part externally, the first gear is different, 4.05 as opposed to 2.95 so you'll take off a little bit faster and run out of first gear quicker, along with a lower torque rating, the input shaft is different so it requires using a slightly undersized early v6 clutch disc or a custom disc, you also need a V8 bellhousing flywheel pressure plate and pilot bushing
