weird trans problem

i have a 2800rpm stall in my car with a 700r4 trans.. when i'm comming to a stop the engine wants to die as if the trans is forcing the rpms down on the motor.. and if i let off the gas while the car is coasting it tries to slowdown quickly? i have no clue whats going on.. the only thing that isn't connected on the trans is the VSS could this cause it?

the car also has absolutely no ***** whats so ever unless i nail hammer from a stop then it takes off spinning the tires into 3rd

is this thing stuck in "lockup" or something

VSS could be culprit

The lockup is controlled bye the VSS, there is a way to wire it up so it'll only lockup in fourth but that may not be the solution you're looking for considering the 2800 stall. This link shows you 1 way to get 4th lockup only http://www.highperformancecars.com/crosley/lockup1.htm
I ended up running mine to a switch, locks up on it's own in 4th, and I can manually switch the lockup on in 2nd and 3rd, works like a charm.

could it have to do with the kickdown cable bracket my superram came with a braket but i used the stock one maybe the cable isn't working right because of that?
