New converter not locking up?

Ok guys, I just installed a built up 700R4 with a 9" Converter (approx. 3000stall) on my car. The kid who used to own it said its a lockup converter and it worked on his car.

Now on my stock 700R4, when I took off the pan, there were a bunch of wires and electrical connections. On this new tranny, I see none?!? Does this mean it doesn't have lockup???

PS the connector is plugged in on my tranny from the outside, I just dont understand how it would work if theres no wires inside my pan.

Yeah if you don't have any wiring it probably isn't going to lock up. Is the solenoid installed?

Not sure exactly where the solenoid is located. Does anybody have pics???

The terminals from the plug don't even have wires coming off of them, I dont understand how the lockup could have worked without these wires in there. Maybe he was BS'ing me??

Also, would it be fine for me to do trips on the highway with a tranny cooler installed, even without the lockup?

Normally it would look something like this:

Do you know what year the transmission is?

I am going to get more specs on the tranny before I give you guys anymore headaches, I willl try to get intouch with him tomorrow and talk to the person who built it.

That connection that says "A B C D" is the bottom of the connector plug right? On my new tranny, there are no wires coming off of that.

That's the connector plug. If your valvebody is earlier than 1989, then it is possible that the TCC lockup isn't electrically controlled, if it has a governor valve installed.
